Pelaverga is a variety unique to the commune of Verduno in Barolo, and grown nowhere else in the world. Mario Andrion vinifies this silky, peppery, floral beauty only in steel, so the unmistakable nose is on full display. The label shows a vineyard poppy, called Basadone in local dialect, meaning “lady’s kiss” - local tradition has it that it’s an aphrodisiac. Great with prosciutto-wrapped anything.
